Roads that charge electric vehicles while driving

An Israeli startup named Electreon has won a contract with the state of Michigan to build a charging road infrastructure near downtown Detroit. The technology will allow for electric vehicles to wirelessly charge as they drive over the roadway. The installation of the technology requires narrows coils to be embedded under the roadway that send magnetic frequencies to a charging pad under the vehicles. It will takes just days to upgrade a mile of road, making this a feasible solution. This is a very exciting development, and proves that new green tech innovations are continuing develop. Although this is technology is not actually generating energy as it relies on the power grid still, it will reduce the need for gas stations reducing air pollution and charging stations in cities.
